1989 Wrangler Islander

Yellow Bird YJ

The YJ Islander was purchased new in the fall of 1988 and has been part of the family ever since.

The amazing fact is that it has just under 13K miles on it as it has been mostly used for Jeep Jamborees, trail riding and local car shows.

It has a few modifications which include a modest lift, custom winch and front bumper, custom soft half top and duster, rocker guards and Rubicon Moab wheels and Goodyear MTR tires.

The 4.2 engine has been converted to TB fuel injection using the 4.0 intake manifold and engine computer. A rear locker was added to improve traction.

It is a great little Jeep with the original Malibu Yellow paint and the original Islander decal package.

Larry's Comment: I like the "Islander" package and I'm glad Jeep is bringing it back to the new Wranglers.

Another nice one Jerry!

Nice looking Jeep. I like the YJ's no matter what the model.
