Chrysler/Fiat to Dump Several Jeep Models

This news is not too surprising as reported in this article from USA Today:

Chrysler to Jettison Bevy of Models...

The unfortunate Jeep models in question are the same ones which were controversial to traditional Jeep lovers when they were each first introduced to the marketplace.

The Commander, Patriot and Compass models may not survive the bankruptcy and Fiat take-over of Chrysler, LLC.

All three of these Jeeps were based on other Chrysler built platforms, which was nothing more than duplication and maybe another poor management decision by the execs in the first place.

Will they be missed? Well, to those owners who really liked them I would have to say...sure. To the Jeep traditionalist...not so much.

I just hope that Fiat/Chrysler doesn't mess with the Jeep Wrangler, and can find a way to continue giving the loyal Jeep fans the traditional American Jeep icon they want and deserve.
