Friend in the British Marines

I have a friend from Great Britain who has been recently posted in Afghanistan. His name is Ant and he is a corporal in the British Marines. He has had several interesting posts in his career and has been to Afghanistan before. He has a pregnant wife at home and one small child. I try to support him by sending a small gift package to him. I think he really appreciates getting some small items that they usually cannot get. I put one in the mail the other day with a T-shirt, flashlight, chocolates and other small treats in it. I think the things he doesn’t like he shares with his comrades, which I think cheers them a little too. I also try to send lots of emails too. Just to let him know there is someone on the other end of the computer. I think new info helps to break the monotony. I also try to send cards and hand written letters so he will get something when the mail comes.
