Hummers Not Worth It

Jeeps are better. They are less top heavy and lighter in general. You can also get an upgrade for the Rock-Trac transfer case with the low-range ratio gearing same as the Hummer H3 has. It's off roading equipment is impressive. They have not had to change the under carriage for thirty years because it is so good. This also means it's old school tech. Much easier to perform a fix if something happens in the out back areas than with the higher tech Hummer systems. Jeep has better power to weight ratios and break over angles due to the shorter wheel base.

Jeep gives you a choice of drive train technology. It has decent power, but you do not need speed in a good off road vehicle. It has plenty of torque which is more important than horsepower.

Hummers are just not worth the money. Most people that get them never take them off road, for fear of hurting such a valuable vehicle money wise, but also it is just not as good for off road as a Jeep. The Jeep also gets better gas mileage than the Hummer.

Why not pay less to get a better vehicle?
