A sample Mahindra Bolero
Mahindra & Mahindra is a $6.7 billion diversified business group with interests in automotive, farm equipments, financial, IT and other sectors. Once well known for its Jeeps & Farm equipments, the group has diversified within and outside automotive segments.
In automotive sector, the group has created a new segment of SUVs, the now extremely popular Scorpio and very recently introduced SUV/Sedan hybrid Xylo. Their products are a great value for money, very reliable and usually have long life if taken care properly.
Their Willys Jeep is still a treasure trove and lifeline for many in hilly regions like Coorg, Sikkim, etc.
Bolero is the jeep which I like the most of all the Mahindra products. Bolero VLX CRDe looks extremely muscular with its front grills. With NGT530R synchro-meshed transmission and 2.49L CRDe engine, the bull roars ahead in the highway with just a feather touch on the accelerator pedal.
Bolero comes into life not on the highway but on roads where no other vehicle can even dream of touching. I have seen this Bolero on a torturous 12km forest near Goa with just mud, stones and water. It just caresses over every obstacle, be it stone filled river/road, S-bends, it simply caresses over. I was amazed by its tuffness and durability.
I have similarly taken this on a hill station in Kerala. There was a terrain near a place called Wayanad which has almost 45 degrees elevation from the ground level and my Mahindra simply cruises over the terrain with the entire jeep full of my friends.
I simply love this bull. The jeep is an extremely good off-road vehicle and probably one of the best vehicles in India in that category.
