Jeeps- The More The Merrier

by Brandyn
(Warren,Oh)

For my sixteenth birthday my dad gave me a 1996 Grand Cherokee Limited w/ a 5.2L V8. Soon after I named her Sally (An "original" name for my original Jeep). After a year or so of daily driving, hitting the trails, some good stories, and a few more scratches and broken parts than I started with, I decided it was time for a new toy.

So on my seventeenth birthday, I took all my birthday money(and the money I've saved up over the past year) and bought myself a 1972 Jeep CJ5 Renegade with a factory 304 V8.

Right now I'm in the midst of taking it back to "almost original". With a new Blaze orange paint job the white top, and white metal rims pop like they were brand new. It also came with a new white hard top, and doors which will be going on shortly because of the cold weather.

The Jeep itself was in pretty good shape, except for the passenger side floor board, the driver side body mounts, and a driver side front fender. After a few welds, a coat of paint on that fender and some brush-on bed liner on the inside, some new mud tires, and a set of newly fabricated body mounts I'll be ready to take her offroad.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, her name is Peaches. Pictures will soon be available of the tranformation.

Larry's Comment: Looking forward to those photos Brandyn.
