Lady Jeeper ! What took me so long to get what I wanted?

Just couldn't help putting in a plug for all us Lady Jeepers. This one's a retired Grandma.

It started as a plain white Jeep Cherokee Sport. I've done the dark windows, pin stripe down the sides, new wheels (I believe they're off a Jeep Wrangler), and a 3-1/2" lift with 31-10-something Goodyear tires.

I've had it over three years now and wonder what took me so long to finally get what I wanted... a Cherokee. I love it! I take it out fly fishing in the Idaho mountains and it goes anywhere and everywhere with no problems. My dog, crate and fishing/camping gear for two easily fits inside.

It's also great for around town shopping as it has that large cargo area. People are often amazed at what fits inside... I brought home a freezer one day with it.

Why did I want a Jeep? Well, they have an excellent record of reliability. It has the wide wheelbase and low body height so they are very stable.

The 4.0L is better on gas than most of the new "green" teeny SUVs now on the market. This body style is such a winner in usefulness. I also just love "the box" body.

Oh, that box on top is a Thule "rod keeper." The reel end goes in the locked box, the rod over the top and secured with a wide rubber strap. This way it's easy to go down the road a ways or go in somewhere to eat and not break down the rods (it will hold four).

I won't ever get a different vehicle unless they make this body style again.
