MY 1970 JEEP PICKUP

by JONATHAN TANNER
(ENTERPRISE, MS)

WELL LETS SEE, I GOT THIS TRUCK A FEW MONTHS AGO FOR $1100 AND I HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO TO IT. THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REBUILT AND IT HAS THE 360 IN IT.

I NAMED THIS TRUCK OL' YELLER AND IT IS NICE. I WISH I KNEW MORE ABOUT IT, AS FAR AS THE HISTORY OF IT, SO IF ANY ONE HAS ANY INFO ON IT PLEASE SEND IT MY WAY.

Larry's Comment: Nice truck Jonathan!

For 1970 the VIN should be located on the left front door hinge pillar and left firewall. The VIN has 13 symbols. The first five digits indicate the series and style. The sixth and seventh designate engine type. The last six digits are sequential serial numbers.

Looking up your Vehicle Identification Number may at least give you some production model info for your truck.

Hey Love! Just wanted to say that your page looks good. That truck sure is pretty! Although it looks better since "I" washed it, I think its going through a drive-through or somewhere for its next wash. LOL That's a lot of truck when you're short! Anyway- I'm glad you got it and I can't wait to go for a ride in it! I love you!

A Beauty, just like the movie (same name), and this one appears to be one of the family, and well loved at that. Sounds like a running board or step up would be well in order for your better half. Happy New Year 2013.

P.S Keep on truckin Jeep!

Jeep Unknown

I bought an old Jeep J-3000 pickup for parts. It has a 327ci engine, badges on the fenders, and on the valve covers. I have no title. I checked the serial # and it looks to be a 1967, but the bed has round tail lights and backup lights. The grill is long like the 1970 or so. This engine was only used in 65, 66, and 67.

Can someone tell me when backup lights and grill would have been put in? This year, that is. Every thing is all original. If anyone can give some info please do.
