My Cheap Jeep

My Cheap Jeep!

My Cheap Jeep!

About 10 years ago I went by a local used car lot I had used before to talk to the owner. On the lot he had a 1987 Jeep Comanche 4x4 with only about 65,000 miles and in good condition.

The only problem was that he was asking over $6000 and I didn't want to pay that much.

I test drove it and said it was too much for my budget...and then I left.

I came back several times within the next few weeks and the Jeep was still there.

I finally asked the owner what the bottom dollar was to get me that Jeep.

He said "tell me what you will give for it?"

I said I would give him $3000 and he said that was way too low...and I then said "well, you asked!"

He walked away for a bit and then came back and handed me his business card with a number on the back and said "this is only good to the end of the week" (about 3 days away).

To make a long story short he let me have my Comanche Jeep for $3600 which indeed made my MJ a "cheap Jeep".

Sweet!

That doesn't happen very often....very few dealers talk down that much. Guess there's a nice little story behind EVERY Jeep. Way to go....I think you should post some new pictures of it though, like what it looks like now.

No Change

Ian..I decided to leave my MJ Comanche in completely stock form for now because everything is there and still working. Therefore, new pictures wouldn't look much different. However, if anything changes I will add new photos.

I am still looking for a used Wrangler to go with the Comanche. Will keep everyone posted!
