My First Indian (Mahindra) Jeep

by Tenzing
(Sikkim, India (North east))

I just got my hands on a second hand Indian Army Jeep, commonly known as the Mahindra 550 XD. I've gone through this web page and have found that in terms of looks it resembles the CJ-7.

Have put the jeep in the garage for some modifications. Will go down to see my baby in the workshop today and will also take a lot of pictures and post it up here for all to see.

Please, please, please, throw in some suggestions, advise, do's, dont's etc., etc.

Larry's Comment: Look forward to some photos Tenzing

Work in Progress
by: Tenzing

Hi everyone...

It's been almost more than a month since i bought my first jeep and posted a comment here. I haven't posted up any pics cause works still in progress... God I didn't know it was going to work out this expensive... i mean i bought so many new parts that i could have made a whole new car with.

Any way... the garage manager keeps complaining saying that he's getting a migraine with all the people coming up to him and asking about my still unfinished jeep.... It's turning out to be a beauty.... Will definitely post up pics once the work is done... actually it's never really done cause i plan to keep modifying it. Guess it's going to be a life time project... (If you guys don't like the jeep then let's just say, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder).. Cheers!!

I am looking for a soft top for my 1991 Mahindra jeep and I am based in Ireland. Any ideas would be appreciated. Many Thanks.
