We Have a 1994 Wrangler YJ with Almost a Fiberglass Body.

We got this Wrangler in 2005 and have been putting extra things on it a little at a time such as replacing the super top this summer, bumper's side rails, new windshield frame, new rubber all the way around plus a few other things.

Is this Jeep kind of hard to find or is it just a normal Jeep? I have no picture's to show as of yet, but will soon.


Larry's Comment: Ron...Kentrol is a company that makes fiberglass body parts for Jeeps. The photo above is an example of a tub/body available for the Jeep YJ Wrangler.

I assume that your '94 YJ has some aftermarket fiberglass body parts from your brief description. It is not unusual to find a Jeep CJ, Wrangler YJ, or Wrangler TJ with fiberglass body parts installed.

However, it is not terribly common for someone to have the entire Jeep body in fiberglass unless it is being used mostly for racing purposes. For the average Jeep owner who frequents rugged off road trails and especially enjoys rock crawling, the fiberglass tends to take a beating where a full steel body would be more durable under the same conditions.

The initial cost of a fiberglass body is usually less expensive than an aftermarket (new) steel body, but a good used YJ body would be significantly less than both aftermarket bodies above...even if it required some repairs and paint to bring it to like new condition.

Ron...I don't know how much of your '94 YJ is fiberglass, but it would be interesting to see some photos of it with more description of the fiberglass portion(s) and any other details of your plans for fixing it up.
