Wheeling Harrison East FSR British Columbia Canada

The start of the trail One happy guy Bushwacker has no fear My Rig

I was contacted by a gent through a Jeep Club Forum here in British Columbia, Canada.

He has just bought a 2010 Jeep Wrangler and had never been out in a 4X4, and wanted to have someone take him on Newbie trails so he could get some experience.

We met up at the local coffee shop and proceeded to drive up to Harrison Hot Springs. The Hot Springs is approximately a 2-hour drive east of Vancouver B.C. and has a lot to offer as it is a resort town all year round. Harrison also has an active logging area that is used by 4-Wheelers and recreational camping.

Back to the story. We arrived at the entrance to the service road and aired down our tires and started up the road. We decided to take the Slololucom trail as it starts off easy and gets a little harder as you get further up.

Pete the Newbie (aka) "Bushwacker" followed me and my wife up the trail and as he wheeled further up the trail the smile on his face grew larger as the obstacles got harder.

At one point we stop for a snack at a lookout and Pete was telling me that flat trail driving was too boring and he would need to do more of the harder trails that we took him on.

He's hooked for life now, so after a bite to eat we meandered up the trail till it was time to turn around and head home.

Just a side note Pete (Bushwacker) is a 73-year young gent who has found his "Jeep" in life. He even went out and bought new off road tires the next week.
