The Jeep Experience Newsletter, Issue #015
May 12, 2009
Hi ,

Things are getting busy here at Jeep Lover's headquarters.

If you haven't heard I am on the lookout for a used Jeep Wrangler TJ or YJ. I have already looked at, test driven and bid on a few rigs...but nothing to report yet. Stay tuned because we sold my wife's Explorer last week giving me some seed money to find that Wrangler to keep my Comanche MJ company.

I won't settle for just any old Jeep. I shop, study and search hard for the best Jeep I can get for the least amount on money. Not an easy feat, but you can see some of the method to my madness on these two pages:

How To Buy A Used Jeep and,

How To Find Cheap Jeeps.

By the way I want to thank all of you who gave your candid opinions on why I should or should not consider an older Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ or the Cherokee XJ (5spd.). The responses were varied and most appreciated. I always learn something from you who take the time to Contact Me with your own Jeep stories..your questions..and/or, your comments.

Okay, so what's happening in the world of Jeep news?

This Chrysler bankrupcy nonsense has gotten kinda creepy, especially with their new CEO...Barack Obama taking the helm. Alright the president did not actually take over Chrylser, LLC..but it almost seems that way.

Have you ever heard of a sitting U.S. president dictating what a private company can and cannot do within that companies own legal rights? Now that's scary!

And then there's the Italian automaker Fiat trying to merge with the remains of Chrysler. Here is a car company that has never made a splash in the United States, and now they come along and want to peddle their little crackerbox cars in America? (No offense to any Fiat fans out there!)

So where does that leave Jeep? I don't think anyone knows for sure at this point. I just think it would be a tragedy after 69 years of Jeep heritage in this country, to see that great icon sold off to the highest bidder from outside the U.S.

If you want to keep up with these stories and all kinds of "Jeep" news..just bookmark my Jeep News and Views page.

And don't forget...if you have a Jeep (in any condition)...don't hesitate to tell all of us about it (and include a photo) so I can show it off for you on the website. See how at Your Jeep Page.

So...until next time..put it in LOW and keep it SLOW (on the trails...that is).

Be safe!

Larry
