We replaced my wife's Chrysler Town & Country with an 06 Commander.
It is rear wheel drive with the 4.7L, Light Khaki, Hulk Wheels, Michelins and 30% tint all the way around.
It is very quick and we get about 24 mpg on the Highway, and around 15-16 mpg in town.
Our Commander only had one problem since we had it. The wiring harness was installed incorrectly under the battery box and shorted. It was replaced under warranty.
I was driving a Crown Victoria, but loved the Commander so much I started looking for one for me. However, I couldn't find one with the options I wanted (4.7 or Hemi & 4WD) in my price range.
I kept looking and ended up finding an 05 Dark Khaki Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with the luxury package, 6 disc CD, 4.7L and 4WD.
I am very happy with my Grand Cherokee. The Commander is quicker with 2wd and the optional gearing. It is also wider and the designated family hauler on long trips with our three kids.
They have enough room not to bother each other. However, when the weather is rough, we still can take the Grand Cherokee, even though the kids are a little more cramped.
My only complaint about either vehicle is how easily the seats stain, but Lemon Joy and Water tends to take care of that easily.
