Korean Jeeps

1989 SsangYong Korando K9 Korean Jeep (File Photo)

1989 SsangYong Korando K9 Korean Jeep (File Photo)

I was in the Air Force in South Korea back in the late 1980s.

There were a large amount of "Korando" jeeps running around. I never got to look at the engines, but from the outside, they looked just like a CJ7.

Their hard tops were non-removable and I never saw a soft top version. I saw them in standard size and also extended like the one above.
