I was in the Military for a considerable part of my life and grew to love the Jeep. Wasn't overly crazy about the Humvee when it came out either!
I traveled across the state of Minnesota and every once in awhile a Jeep would cross my path. I bought this one the day before it was due to be hauled to a scrapper and crushed.
In fact the scrapper wanted to be paid for the Jeep because he thought a deal was a deal! Too bad scrapper.....
Most of the Jeep was there except for a fuel tank, which was so rusty it had to be changed out for a different one. A new fuel filter and the engine started and ran just fine.
I use it in parades now so that the older vets can post their flags on board the Jeep in the flag holders and drive the parade route instead of marching it!
Mechanized Infantry was always better than Regular Infantry, especially if you are 85 yrs old!
Larry's Comment: Jim...your M38A1 looks great...but most of all I want to thank you for your service to our country.
...and God Bless You for honoring the "older" vets in the parades by taking them in your fine military Jeep.
Also, I bet other vehicles get out of your way with that .50 caliber on board!
