1968 Jeepster Commando

by Charlie
(Ormond Beach, Fl)

I was out driving in Florida and came on a Jeep in a field. I stopped and asked if it was for sale and the man said make an offer.

It was very rusty and rotted. I offered him $200.00 and he accepted. I spent the next year and half restoring it.

It is all welded, with no Bondo. I got the V6 225 odd-fire engine running. The transmission and transfer case had a lot of water in them, so I drained them and put new oil in.

It is almost restored now. I've been driving it to shows and will rebuild the engine this winter.

Editor's Comment: Good job, Charlie. That is a nice looking Jeepster.

I have always liked the Commando Jeepsters.
