Is The Jeep Compass Really That Bad?

Some sources and websites refer to the Jeep Compass as one of the "worst cars of the decade".
The Compass is referred to as a "soft-road poseur, and not a good one at that".
I don't think the Compass is a bad car by any means, but I think it had a tough tradition to live up to under the Jeep moniker. Any parent name other than Jeep would have probably worked okay. That's all.
