If I was to pick between a Jeep and a Hummer I would have to easily pick the Jeep for an off-road vehicle. The hummer has an image that jeep will never catch up to with the fancy H2 and the entire ego that comes with driving one. But they just do not perform off the road, they are a luxury car for the most part and are designed for power on the road and comfort on the road, not so much the off-road part since they are so expensive no one buys them for off-road use. However the Jeep has been an off-road machine in the present and in the past, we used them in WW2 to conquer the tough terrain and they are still the best at doing so today. Hummer is trying to become more like jeep by reducing the size of their vehicles which also reduces the price and increases the gas mileage which makes them more consumers friendly. Jeep has had the hold on the off-road market for a long time over hummer and it is hard for Hummer to just walk into a marketplace that Jeep has so much experience in. The raw power and adaptability of a Jeep makes it a easy choice over Hummer for off-road driving.
