I owned a 1968 4-cyl. Kaiser CJ5 during high school and it took a lot of teenage abuse. It held up great and I even sold it for more than I paid for it.
A few years later after attending a car show with my wife I got the fever again and bought a 1979 V8 CJ5 Renegade with factory a/c. It was a also great Jeep and after the kids came along I reluctantly sold it for more than I paid.
Today we are empty nesters and RV travel as time allows. While RV'ing in Myrtle Beach early this summer I saw a CJ being towed by an RV and again got the fever.
After a few months of serious searching I found the one I've been looking for. It's a 1979 Golden Eagle CJ7 V8 w/ the factory 4-speed T-18. It's in great shape for 31 years old and it sounds awesome with the headers and side pipes.
We just love the unsolicited comments on it when we go out for a cruise. I recently installed a bumper to allow it to be towed behind our RV so perhaps I'll inspire a few folks as we travel to campgrounds this fall.
Larry's Comment: That's one nice CJ7 Golden Eagle Dan! Goes to show..you can take the man out of the CJ...but you can't take the CJ out of the man.
