Restored 1962 CJ-3B

Can't wait to drive it!

After a national web search I found this "B" on Craigslist just 10 miles from home.

Had been a utility truck at the York, PA Airport until the engine seized. Purchased by Fred who poured 4 years of great disassembly, body work, engine rebuild, etc. into it, but then got sidetracked for 16 years.

April 2011 I purchased it. It spent 20 months in my garage in Lancaster, PA as I dawdled through brakes, parts clean-up/rebuilding until I was transferred to Illinois. The Willys went to a Restorer in PA and emerged 9/6/13.

As of this writing it has not yet been shipped, but friends are driving it and sending pictures.

Rich in Illinois.

Larry's Comment: Wow, Rich...your CJ3B "hi-hood" looks brand new! Beautiful restoration.

The clean engine compartment is also quite impressive. Your restorer appears to do high quality work. Kudos!

Now I feel badly

What a terrific job you have all done. There seems to be so much attention to detail. I'm glad there are people out there who realize the value in finding these old babies and hauling them home for a restoration.

I live in NH and found my '58 CJ3B in Charlotte, NC. I would hate to go to a "Cruise Night" and park next to you. I'd write more but you just shamed me into going out and doing some more work on my Jeep.

Good luck to you.

Call it patina

Mine happened to go the full "resto" route but there's a great deal of personality to vintage Jeeps that reflect the reality that these were working vehicles.

Embrace the rust, dents and rattles. Your Jeep has earned them.
