I bought my Overland Grand Cherokee from my sister in 2008. Regular oil changes, tire rotations, an alternator, compressor and of course tires.

Seven years later the odometer reads 306,540 and it is still the most reliable vehicle I have ever had.

Even with the amount of snow we received this year, there was never a day I had to stay off the road.

I am facing "decision day". Put some money in and keep it going for a few more years or get another Jeep.....

I am very attached to this work horse of a vehicle and feel it doesn't deserve to be let go.

Feeling emotional!

High Mileage

Congratulations on the long life of the Jeep. Your problem will probably be similar to mine with a Dakota I drove 623,000 miles. The problem is that most Jeeps with your mileage are in the junk-yard and designed accordingly so you may expect valve leakage and the associated problems.

A low mile used engine will cost less than buying a new vehicle but keep in mind that around half a million miles and your repairs will cost more.

When it is eventually all worn out you can modify it for serious off-roading. ;)
