I drove a Ssangyong Korando for about nine years starting in 1989. It was a great jeep to drive on the streets on Seoul. Not the fastest car on the road, but rugged and dependable.

I never had any problems with it while I had it. Simply replaced the brake pads and engine oil in time and that was enough. It was powerful going uphill allowing me to navigate through the hilly terrain of northern Seoul even in snowy weather. I even towed a neighbor's car once with my Korando after it got stuck in the snow. He ended up buying a Korando himself!

Larry's Comment: The K9 Korando apparently was rated to carry 9 people, which is pretty cool for a long wheel-based CJ style Jeep.

Maybe Chrysler/Jeep in the USA should look into making a 7 to 9 passenger Wrangler...hmmmm!

Thanks for the story, Sam.
